Originally from Chicago, Julie was a long-time Madison resident after graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1993, with a degree in Art History. Now she is proud to be a Bay Area Badger, and Director of User Experience Research at LinkedIn. She runs a human-centered practice that informs, infuses and inspires the products and designs that connect the world’s professionals to make them more successful and productive. Her team delivers empathy and insights about members and customers across R&D and Marketing; their work is focused on bringing the human touch to technology products and creating meaningful emotional engagement with LinkedIn’s members and customers. Before joining LinkedIn, Julie applied the principles and practices of design thinking with teams around the world, informing the strategy and development of products ranging from toilet paper to medical devices to financial services.
